What research peptides actually are

Research peptides are short chains of amino acids synthesised for in vitro research and laboratory use. They are not medicines or food supplements, and are not intended for human consumption, diagnostic use or therapeutic use.

The number that matters is HPLC purity. For most research applications, ≥99% is expected. Suppliers who manufacture and test in their own laboratory can hold that standard consistently, because the same team controls synthesis, purification and release testing.

Peptide stability is affected by temperature, light and moisture. Proper storage conditions — usually refrigerated, protected from light and sealed — are essential to maintain integrity between experiments.

Practical points: buy from a supplier that makes and tests its own compounds in its own lab, store according to the labelled conditions, and run your own validation assays before using any compound in your research protocol.
